Meet The Ceo

Ashiyah Abbott-Walker is a 24 year old who was born and raised in Toronto. Her interest in beauty all started when she fell in love with the YouTube community at a young age. After watching countless hair and makeup tutorials, she began practicing on family and friends. Before she knew it, she had developed a hobby for almost every beauty related activity. 

Ashiyah pursued her International BA in Trilingual Psychology. During undergrad, her love for doing hair, makeup and fashion became a passion of hers. Seeing women feel empowered through their hair or through makeup was something that inspired Ashiyah.  After graduating, Ashiyah created Slayed By Shya so she could help women feel confident, beautiful and empowered in any way possible. She hopes and plans for Slayed By Shya to expand into makeup, skincare and fashion in the future.

The mission for Slayed By Shya is to serve all things beauty. Whether it is hair, makeup or fashion we have something for everyone. Our hair is carefully selected from trusted vendors in different Asian regions. We take pride in being able to offer affordability without sacrificing quality.
